CURRENT PROJECTS
MATERNITY: ShORT FILM / Proof of Concept
Logline: When a second-time mother gets an unexpected complication postpartum, she must fight to save her life in the fractured American health care system.
Maternity aims to tackle the difficult discussion around maternal mortality in America. Implicit bias in healthcare is not a new phenomenon, Black bodies have endured medical inequalities since the founding of this nation. We hope to initiate a dialogue around preventable maternal deaths and highlight the inhumanity many Black mothers experience at hospitals.

Beating the Ten Count explores whether the commissions that govern boxing are doing enough to mitigate the risk of death and CTE in boxing. Through interviews and archival footage, we will recount Frankie Leal Jr.’s life, relationships, and the career choices that led to his final bout. In addition to dissecting the ring death of Leal, we will go on a journey of perseverance and healing with the three women that he left behind.
